Windows 10’s feature updates usually release once in six months while smaller cumulative updates make an appearance twice a month. The next big build is expected to come this November and hopefully will bring fixes for the bugs that pretty much every cumulative update has given rise to.

Microsoft announced the November update two weeks ago. The update is numbered 1909. MSDN subscribers can get the update right now as the company has already seeded to them.

It remains to be seen if the update will actually be a fixer since the recent updates were so bad they crashed features like the Start menu and Windows search. Reportedly, version 1909 is version 1903 with minor updates in it so a big change in performance seems unlikely.

If you don’t have an MSDN subscription, but want to try out the update regardless, a Windows Insider program’s release preview ring exists that you can join.
