Harish Kumar who's born and brought up in Chennai, has been nicknamed globally as "The Indian Valentino Rossi" thanks to his biking skills
Have you heard of the phrase "prevention is better than cure"? Well, travelling acts just like a preventive medicine for your mind, body and soul! Travelling is one of the best stress busters out there which rejuvenates your mood and reduces stress.
In these harsh times, everything is online be it school, work or get-togethers, staying at home all day stresses you up whether you know it or not! Harish Rossi, who is India's one of the best motorbike riders who has broken many national and world records, says that travelling is the best way to reduce stress and prepare yourself for things gradually going back to normal.
Who's Harish Rossi?
Harish Kumar who's born and brought up in Chennai, has been nicknamed globally as "The Indian Valentino Rossi" thanks to his biking skills and neverending records. Also him being a diehard Valentino Rossi fan helps! He's a typical outdoor guy, If he isn't riding bikes he is probably playing cricket or badminton. He currently owns 7 bikes which he calls his 'dream bikes': MV Agusta F4 RC, BMW S1000Rr, R1M, aprilia caponord, VMAX, you name it he has it! He has covered around 7 lakhs kilometres on his superbikes in the past 10 years! He has already covered each and every route and trail in India! He has broken many records in bike riding and achieved many commendable feats, one such feat that he achieved was covering around 10200+ kms from Kanyakumari to Khardung La and back in just 15 days!
On the covid situation and mental well being of people, Harish says that, " Lot of people stress themselves, sitting in their house but travelling keeps such people away from everything and everyone and close to one's own self. When you go out, you see so many new things, you discover so many new things about yourself and explore yourselves more." He further advised people to go out and do things that scare them the most. He advises people to put themselves out there, step out of their comfort zone and enjoy doing new things in life. Have you never tried a food or anything you never tried before and absolutely loved it? If you haven't already, you should! Maybe try a new restaurant? Try a new path to your destination?
True to his words, when he undertook the biking journey from Kanyakumari to Khardung La, he decided to step out of his comfort zone and he took his superbike, which is a heavy and expensive machinery there. Bikers usually prefer taking bikes like Royal Enfield to such difficult routes; but Harish, destroyed his self made mental blockades and decided to take the superbike to the rough terrain, not to show-off or prove anything to anyone but for his own satisfaction and happiness. And he says that although not easy, this journey was one of the best journeys he has had!
When you travel you meet new people, you explore different cuisines, different cultures, you gather amazing life-changing experiences that will stay with you forever, he says. Travelling as he says is not about going from point A to point B but it is about the journey, the thrill and the chaos. Travelling is about exploring yourself, finding you in yourself! "Between yesterday and today there's so much that has changed, your opinion, your thought process, something new that you learned, and then there's something new to learn today, it's what keeps us going!"
He got inspired by the one and only Valentino Rossi, and now he's inspiring the people of India to travel, to explore. You can check his amazing adventures (and maybe undertake one yourself!) on his Instagram: @harishrossi
