A stitch too late

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement — “We need to involve religious leaders, thinkers and opinion-makers for a social movement against extremism” — at the G-20 summit in Turkey comes too late. The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria’s massacre of innocent Muslims shows that its religious beliefs are suspect. This also makes one suspicious whether arms manufacturers and dealers have vested interests in the spread of terror. We must monitor the supply of arms to check terrorism.
