Myanmar churns

Myanmar is set for a democratic upheaval — something the Tatmadaw (military) would be wary of. Counting shows that Aung San Suu Kyi’s National League for Democracy is leading on most seats.

Let us hope the military respects Myanmar’s mandate as Ms Suu Kyi has also decided to delegate the presidency in case of a victory to avoid a confrontation. It is time the generals gave democracy a chance. Angshuman Kathpalia Meerut
