Mind over bluster

With reference to Shobhaa De’s article The patriot games we play (November 27), the Bharatiya Janata Party seems to have taken upon itself the responsibility of “fixing” any criticism of the Narendra Modi government in a ferocious way. Instead of retaliating aggressively and mindlessly, BJP members must do some introspection and change their tactics of ambushing critics for differing with them in the wider interest of democracy, if not for their own sake. They must realise that such aggressive posturing has already lost them Bihar and, if they don’t want to lose further, they must mend their errant ways.
