Look beyond Modi

With reference to Anita Katyal’s Bihar loss & image woes (Nov. 22), the Bharatiya Janata Party’s miserable loss in the Bihar Assembly elections doesn’t need too much deliberation as the reason for such a crushing loss is the BJP’s overt dependency on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s charisma. While Mr Modi’s ability to campaign extensively is praiseworthy, it doesn’t befit a PM to keep asking for votes. The voters are selfish and, apart from listening to Mr Modi, they also want to know what the party can do to help improve their lives. It is time the BJP stops depending on Mr Modi.
