The growing intolerance in the country has led 24 members of India’s film fraternity to return their National Awards to register their protests on a plethora of issues. The government’s increasing intolerance towards dissenting voices, including FTII students, actors and filmmakers, has been the main reason behind these.

It’s time the NDA government understands that “intolerance” is for real in this country and heeds the writing on the wall to rein in its leaders from making insensitive communal statements.
