London: Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II has advertised for a new furnishings manager who will be responsible for around 1,000 rooms at her various palaces.

The UK’s royal household is looking for a “Curtain Maker and Soft Furnishing Upholsterer” to take care of furnishings at Buckingham Palace and St James’s Palace in London and Windsor Castle in Berkshire in southeast England.

The successful applicant will earn 22,000 pounds a year, plus pension and benefits.

“It’s knowing your curtains add the finishing touch to the state rooms. It’s protecting heritage by leaving your own legacy. And it’s furnishing some of the most famous houses in the world. This is what makes working for the Royal Household exceptional,” the advertisement reads.
