The latest flagship from OnePlus goes on a diet and loses bezels but retains everything else from OnePlus 5.

The OnePlus 5T is about to be launched and the rumours have suggested a smartphone that is essentially the existing OnePlus 5 with a bigger display and smaller bezels. An accidental pre-release unboxing of the OnePlus 5T by ZDNet has confirmed the same, showing the OnePlus 5T in all its glory. They have even compared the handset with the likes of the Mi MIX 2 and the Galaxy S8.

As you can see from the pictures, the OnePlus 5T is essentially looking like any other smartphone with narrow bezels these days. Despite having lesser bezels with a 6-inch display, it is still bigger in size than the Samsung Galaxy S8 and the Xiaomi MI MIX 2. Another surprising fact is that the smartphone is running on Oxygen OS based on Android 7.1.1, given that Android Oreo has been there in the market for a considerable amount of time.

However, what’s not surprising (and rather satisfying) is that the 5T will be rocking the same internals of the OnePlus 5, which is no slouch. It will be built around the Snapdragon 835 chipset along with 6GB or 8GB RAM. The 6-inch display will have a 1080p AMOLED panel with 18:9 aspect ratio. It will come in two storage variants — 64GB and 128GB. The smartphone will be powered by a 3300mAh battery. If you were wondering, the OnePlus 5T will be keeping the headphone jack.

Unfortunately, the unboxing doesn’t reveal the price of the OnePlus 5T but we expect it to be priced slightly higher than the OnePlus 5.
