Mumbai: As part of his “Sampark for Samarthan Abhiyan”, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Amit Shah will meet several influential personalities in Mumbai. As of now, the Mumbai BJP has planned Mr Shah’s meetings with legendary songstress and Bharat Ratna awardee Lata Mangeshkar; Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit Nene; and business tycoon Ratan Tata. All three meetings will take place on Wednesday. Mr Shah has initiated the campaign to garner the support of prominent people for the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government at the centre, and the work done by it.
On Wednesday, Mr Shah will meet Ms Mangeshkar at her Prabhu Kunj residence at Malabar Hill. According to BJP office bearers, Mr Shah will present Ms Mangeshkar a detailed report card of the Modi government consisting of work that has been done in the past four years, the government’s ongoing projects, and plans. Thereafter, Mr Shah will meet Mr Tata at the latter’s home. Ms Dixit is also on the list of notables whom Mr Shah will meet and brief in the city. Sources claimed that the names on the list could increase on Wednesday.
Mr Shah kicked-off the campaign in the national capital, where he met former army chief General Dalbir Suhag; cricket icon Kapil Dev; and Yoga guru and face of the Patanjali business empire Baba Ramdev. After meeting Mr Shah, Mr Ramdev praised the Modi government for the work it has done in the past four years.
“Everyone knows that in tough times, Mr Modi has shown the right path to the nation. This government has done great work in terms of economic reforms,” he said.
Mr Shah will also meet state chief ministers and deputy chief ministers from NDA parties during his campaign. A meeting with Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray is also part of the campaign.
