JeM recruitment module busted in J&K, six arrested

Srinagar: The J&K police on Monday claimed that a module of Jaish-e Muhammad (JeM) which was trying to lure the Kashmiri youth into militancy has been busted.

A police spokesman in Srinagar said that during a joint operation, the J&K police, the Army and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) busted a “criminal network” involving the JeM in Tral area of southern Pulwama district.

“It was involved in recruiting youth into the militant ranks, providing logistic support and facilitating movement of militants in the general area of Tral,” he said.

The spokesman also claimed that on the disclosure of the six arrested persons incriminating materials have been recovered from their possession.

The accused are Ghulam Nabi Shah, Ishfaq Sameer Sheikh, Irfan Ahmad Mir, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, Bashir Ahmad Sheikh, and Junaid Rashid Bhat.
