Dhanush ventures into web series

Bollywood stars seem to have taken a fancy to web series, what with Saif Ali Khan, Vivek Oberoi and Rajkummar Rao taking up projects.

The latest to bite the bait is Dhanush. The actor and his team are now planning to venture into web series.

Dhanush reveals, “We started planning for the web-series about two years ago. We started researching on it. We were even planning to launch an app but we had to shift our focus on VIP 2.” The actor reveals that the web series may go live by next year.

“It’s very much happening. We will be resuming our web series plan next year. Right now, I will be only backing it; I am not sure if I will act in it. We will be expanding it region by region,” he added.

Dhanush, who recently directed a film Pa Paandi, says he is ashamed that he turned director so late in his career. He says, “I should have directed a film few years ago. I feel like I have not done anything. I am writing a film when I am 34, which I think is really late.”
