CES 2018 has almost come to an end, which doesn’t translate into a good news for those eagerly expecting an announcement from Samsung with regards to the next flagship smartphone — the Galaxy S9. However, Samsung has gave out a tentative time by which we will see the S9 — the Mobile World Congress at Barcelona this February.

A report from ZDNet states that Samsung’s mobile business president DJ Koh has indicated the South Korean giant will be unveiling their first flagship smartphone for this year the MWC 2018 in Barcelona. Samsung will be showing the smartphone to the world at the event and will even announce the sales date for the global market at that time. The Galaxy S9 is expected to be unveiled in a new 512GB storage variant.

Alongside the Galaxy S9, the company will also roll out Bixby 2.0 this year, which is promised to have better integration with devices and include third-party support as well. The company plans to involve Bixby in all of its home appliances by 2020.

However, the much anticipated Galaxy X foldable smartphone might not see the light of the day this year, with the company expressing its intentions to unveil it sometime next year. The company is facing hurdles with the UX as well several commercialisation issues.
