Last year, Lenovo-led Motorola unveiled the Moto M – a new mid-range smartphone with a premium build, for the Indian market. It was essentially a beefed up Moto G4 with a deca-core Mediatek Helio P15 chipset and a full metal body. Motorola has already revamped most of its line-up for the 2017 and the Moto M is getting a second generation upgrade as well.

According to tipster Andri Yatim, the Moto M2 has been doing rounds of certain performance benchmarking platforms. As of now, it is expected that the Moto M2 will come in two variants – one with 4GB RAM and 32GB of storage and the second one with 6GB RAM and 64GB of storage. The phone will be featuring a 5.5-inch full-HD display and could also be powered by the Mediatek Helio X20 chipset, which is a deca-core processor. Since it’s a 2017 smartphone, it will be running on a stock version of Android Nougat 7.1.1 with Moto experiences.

The phone is already doing rounds of certain benchmarking sites and gaining Wi-Fi certification from Wi-Fi Alliance (WFA). Therefore, it seems that Motorola might be looking to release this smartphone sometime in the festive season in India after it’s unveiled elsewhere in the world. We can expect it to priced slightly higher than the Moto G5 Plus in India.
