The CR has planned the block on Sunday to minimise the inconvenience caused to commuters.

The construction work for the foot-over-bridge at Currey Road in Parel is currently underway.

Mumbai: There will be no train services between Dadar and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) from 9.30am to 5.00pm on February 4 as the Central Railway (CR) and the Indian Army are building a foot over-bridge (FOB) at Currey Road and Parel.

The CR has planned a block that day, which is a Sunday, in the hope of minimising the inconvenience caused to commuters.

CR divisional railway manager S.K. Jain said, “The slow line will be shut for six hours beginning 9.30 am. While an eight hour block will be seen on the fast line towards CSMT.”

This will also be preceded by a five hour block on the CR Saturday night and a similar block on Western Railway (WR) Friday and Saturday night.

The good news for commuters is that the CR plans to introduce 26 new services on Republic Day, which includes installation of LED lights at 52 stations.

The CR is also expected to inaugurate the extended CSMT to Goregaon services by March-end. Mr Jain said, "At Currey Road, the Army will be finishing up the job of extensions and at Parel, we will be building extensions to bridges that will help dissipate crowds at a faster rate."
