Kolkata: Trinamul Congress minister and Kolkata Mayor Sovan Chatterjee's wife Ratna Chatterjee has sought one month time from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for her appearance before it to face questionning in Narada sting operation.

In an email she told the central agency that she was undergoing treatment in London. According to sources Ms Chatterjee was expected to face the ED questionning on Monday.

Close on the heels of her husband's questionning by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) last month Ms Chatterjee was summonned by the Enforcement Directorate to appear in CGO Complex in Salt Lake.

Sources in the ED revealed the investigating officers areĀ  looking into the nature of medical treatment for which she has travelled to London and the healthcare institution she has been admitted to.

Ms Chatterjee's name came up following her husband's statement to the CBI's questions about the sting footage showing him accepting cash from Narada CEO Mathew Samuel.
