Schoolkids' formation shows ills of pollution

The aim was to create awareness about the ill-effects of air pollution and also to generate people's attention.

New Delhi: More than 5,300 school children on Saturday entered the Guinness Book of World Records by forming the ‘largest human lung’ at Thyagraj stadium in the capital.

The activity by schoolchildren from 35 schools from Delhi-NCR, saw the ‘lung’ transforming to show the effects of pollution: pink lungs turning into irreversible black lungs.

The aim was to create awareness about the ill-effects of air pollution and also to generate people’s attention. Lung Care Foundation said, “The aim was to bring in a people’s movement where citizens, corporates and children come together to start ‘MySolutionToPollution’ of green commitments.”
