Swamy the victor

Subramanian Swamy’s case of criminal conspiracy, breach of trust and cheating against Congress president Sonia Gandhi and party vice-president Rahul Gandhi for misappropriation of funds from Associated Journals Ltd to Young India Ltd was filed in his capacity as a concerned citizen of India. That the Gandhis, who are directors of YIL, paid '50 lakh for Associated Journals’ assets worth '2,000 crore, shows that it was a raw deal. Dr Swamy’s concern is valid as the Gandhis are not private citizens but public representatives and should exude probity and transparency in their conduct.
