Look beyond

After a very long time, Russia and the US have agreed to a ceasefire in Syria. Clearly the current strategy of the US-led coalition has failed miserably. A lot of reasons can be attributed to this, the biggest being Russia’s direct and conflicting idea of peace in the region. The situation demands for a composite dialogue between all the stakeholders involved. It is time to rise beyond the traditional oil-based politics in West Asia.
