Diplomacy at stake

We have come across mixed reactions to the surprise visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Pakistan. No doubt Mr Modi has gone the extra mile in his attempt to show the world that the National Democratic Alliance government is for permanent peace with our neighbours. However, there is also resentment among the intelligentsia that this visit might have earned him some brownie points, but his spur-of-the-moment decision is unlikely to yield the results desired.
