Courting Pakistan

External affairs minister Sushma Swaraj’s push for a display of “maturity and self-confidence” by India and Pakistan at the “Heart of Asia” summit in Pakistan shows that the India is now looking for cooperation from Pakistan on the security front. The meeting between the two countries’ NSAs in Thailand affirms that the countries seek peace in Afghanistan to counter the threat from the ISIS’ offshoots in the Indian subcontinent. It is hoped this round of dialogues marks the beginning a peaceful relationship with Pakistan.
