To boost jobs, the government announced 10 million youth to take skill training under the Kaushal Vikas Yojana.

New Delhi: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in her maiden budget speech said the government will introduce a new national education policy which will focus on higher education.

The minister proposed to set-up the National Research Foundation to assimilate research grants from various ministries. She also proposed ‘Study in India’ programme to attract foreign students, The Indian Express reported.

The government has set aside Rs 400-crore for world-class institutions. Under Khelo India Scheme, the government will set up the National Sports Education Board.
