Excel Entertainment ventured into producing digital content with Powerplay. The duo, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani joined hands with a leading portal based in the West. However, it looks like things have gone a bit sour between the portal and co-producers.

A close source reveals, “Farhan and Ritesh’s next digital venture — Mirzapur — has been delayed till an indefinite time due to differences between the portal and the co-producers. It doesn’t look like web show will kick-start anytime soon.”

The Excel duo had earlier produced a cricket-based show — Powerplay —in association with Netflix along with Amazon with Richa Chadha in the leading role. But even with this show, the makers have decided to change the title to The Inside Edge.
