HDFC panel to find Puri’s successor

HDFC Bank is on a global search to find a successor to Founder & Chief Executive Officer Aditya Puri, as he would turn 70 next year.

Mumbai: India’s largest private lender HDFC Bank has set up a six-member panel to identify a successor to managing director Aditya Puri who is set to retire in October 2020.

The bank's chairperson and former RBI deputy governor Shyamala Go-pinath, additional director Sanjiv Sachar, former Infosys CFO MD Ranga-nath, Sandeep Parekh, Srikanth Nadhamuni and HDFC's representative Keiki Mistry have been named members of the search committee. Puri will act as an advisor to the search committee, the private lender said in a statement.

"The Search Commi-ttee, over the next few months, shall evaluate internal and external candidates to ensure a smooth transition," the bank said in a statement.
