While other manufacturers resorted to increasing the price of their models due to the mandatory inclusion of ABS/CBS, Bajaj decided to offer a sporty motorcycle at an affordable price tag.

Despite the entire two-wheeler industry being in the grip of a slowdown, Bajaj has found a reason to cheer up this festive season. Not only have their export figures remained stable, but their domestic sales have also seen an upturn. Take the Bajaj Pulsar 125 for example. It’s been a smidge over two months since its launch and Bajaj has managed to sell over 40,000 units (standard and split-seat variant) of the baby Pulsar!

While other manufacturers resorted to increasing the price of their models due to the mandatory inclusion of ABS/CBS, Bajaj decided to offer a sporty motorcycle at an affordable price tag. Needless to say, it has paid huge dividends for the manufacturer. One of the reasons behind the Pulsar 125’s success is the overall package that you get for Rs 66,618 (ex-showroom).  It is essentially a Pulsar 150 with a downsized engine. However, the difference between both the models isn’t that significant as you only lose out on 2PS of power and 2Nm of torque. Moreover, you get the same underpinnings and features as the Pulsar 150, making the bike a value for money proposition. Head here for our review. 

It’s not just that the Pulsar 125 that has fared well in these tough market conditions, the entire CT model lineup tallied over 1.34 lakh units, whereas the Bajaj Platina range registered sales of 1.4 lakh units. Just like most of the manufacturers, Bajaj has rolled out festive offers on its motorcycles. These include a cashback offer of upto Rs 6,000 paired, 5-year free warranty and five free services. Offers like these seem to have helped the manufacturer attract some more customers.
