Satellite images show China’s radar system in Pangong Tso

New Delhi: The Chinese military has constructed a new radar system near the Finger 8 buffer zone on the northern banks of Pangong Tso lake in eastern Ladakh, which will allow it to keep an eye on all disputed areas with India, according to the latest satellite images.

The new radar is 10-11 km from Finger 8, which is the buffer zone on the northern banks of Pangong Tso. The radar system will allow it to monitor the disputed finger areas on the northern banks. It will also allow the People’s Liberation Army to keep a check on the southern banks of Pangong Tso lake, including the Chushul hills.

“The monitoring of the Pangong Tso area has revealed the construction of a new structure by China, likely for providing early warning or surface monitoring data to the PLA troops in the disputed border area with India,” tweeted Damien Symon, a geospatial intelligence researcher at Intel Lab, as he tagged the satellite image.
