Ukraine: Man strangles stepchildren in sleep, wanted revenge from their mother

Odessa: A man in Ukraine has been arrested for strangling his two young stepchildren in a drunken fit.

According to a report in the Daily Mirror, the 42-year-old man had been binge drinking for three weeks before murdering the five-year-old girl and the 11-year-old boy. He had an argument with their mother before the incident and in order to get back at her, killed the children while they were asleep at their home in Odessa.

The mother was at work when her children were murdered. Her aunt went to check on the sleeping children and discovered their dead bodies. 

The accused told the police that he had throttled the children with his bare hands. He said, “I woke up and killed the children. Something got into me.”

There were injuries on the man’s face but it is not known when he received them. He will have to undergo psychiatric tests before his prosecution.
