Pakistan Army refuses to ‘do more’ in war on terror

Islamabad: Pakistan military Thursday said that Pakistan had done enough for everyone and will not “do more” in the US-led fight on terror.

Director general Inter Services Public Relations, Major General Asif Ghafoor,  said: “We cannot do more on dictation by any country.”

Speaking at a media briefing here, the ISPR chief said that Pakistan ensured peace on all fronts and it was the duty of the army to stabilise the region.

“India has been carrying out surgical strikes and spreading false propaganda and Pakistan will not be reactive to such false lies anymore. You cannot lure us to your unprofessional tactics,” he noted.

He said Pakistan Army cannot compromise on its honour. “We will not fight for money against terrorism,” he added. On the subject of Afghanistan, he said, “Peace in Afghanistan is in Pakistan’s interest.”
