US must learn from experiences, says Pak Foreign Minister
Asif said that the frustration of US can be clearly seen through statements at the United Nations General Assembly session.
Islamabad: Pakistan Foreign Minister Khawaja Mohammed Asif has asked the United States to learn from the experiences of Pakistan in war against terrorism.
In a tweet, Mr Asif said that the frustration of US can be clearly seen through statements at the United Nations (UN) General Assembly session, adding that the failure in Afghan war is the reason of frustration.
He said: “Frustrations on diplomatic front in UN and war in Afghanistan are reflected in statements of US administration.”
He added: “Don’t blame or threat us, learn from our experiences in war against terror if that is our common objective.”
Earlier, the Foreign Office had responded to comments of US Vice President Mike Pence by stating that allies do not put each other on notice.
FO spokesperson Dr Mohammed Faisal said the statement was at variance with the extensive conversations we have had with the US administration.
Mr Pence had aimed a jab at Pakistan, reiterating word for word Mr Trump’s warning that it must stop offering cross-border safe havens to Taliban factions and terror groups fighting US troops and their Afghan allies.
