Islamabad: Pakistan foreign minister Khawaja Mohammed Asif said Wednesday that he had requested United States authorities to identify terror hideouts in Pakistan.

Speaking to reporters here, Mr Asif said that  Pakistan was taking action against the militants on its own.

“I have asked the US to identify the hideouts where we are allegedly not taking action. We will consider the inputs seriously,” he added.

The foreign minister has just completed a visit to the US and is awaiting his US counterpart Rex Tillerson in Islamabad for further talks.

Mr Asif said that he stands by his stance that Pakistan needed to “clean our house.”

He rhetorically asked why National Action Plan was needed if everything was alright internally. Mr Asif said that he did not need to earn any certificate for his love for Pakistan from anyone except for the people.

About his meetings with US authorities, the minister said that Washington agreed with Pakistan’s reservations over India’s involvement in Afghanistan  and with recommendation to seek political solution to Afghanistan troubles.

Mr Asif has warned last month that the country will continue to face “embarrassment” if terror groups like the LeT and JeM are not reined in, according to media reports.
