Sara Arfeen Khan’s new look for Jamai Raja

Since the original lead of Jamai Raja, Shiny Doshi, will be shown being transformed into Sara Arfeen Khan post plastic surgery, it gave rise to the speculations that Sara was replacing Shiny on the show. As it turns out, this is but a well thought-out plan by the creative team of the show to keep the audiences hooked. Says Sara, the new Mahi on the show, “I’m not the replacement, but a parallel lead on the show. I’ve been brought in with a purpose. I’ve read the script, and trust me, the track in the coming weeks will unleash some major turns. I cannot reveal them at the moment, but I just hope the audiences accept me as Mahi.”

To slip into character, Sara also had to straighten her curly hair that she loved to flaunt. While the actress hated undergoing this major transformation, she gave in to the demands of the creative team, as she was keen on taking up the show. “I loathed the very thought of having to straighten my hair but they left me with no choice. I reluctantly agreed to go for this drastic change in my appearance since the role required me to have straight hair and a cut that will let the fringes fall on my face. I honestly have never done much to my hair so this is going to be a very different look,” says Sara.
