Aarti Singh is no newcomer to the television industry. After proving herself in Mayka, Parichay, Uttaran, Grahasti, Thoda Hai Thode Ki Zarurat Hai, and currently in Comedy Classes, she had no qualms playing a ghost in Sasural Simar Ka.

A pretty ghost “I took the role of this ghost because unlike the usual ugly ghosts, this ghost is pretty. Also, Sasural Simar Ka is a big show and has a great TRP rating,” says Aarti.

She adds, “To tell you the truth, I was sitting at home for a long time. So though this character was not the main lead, I opted for it. I simply wanted people to see me making a comeback. And I am happy that my aim has been achieved. I have not only received huge compliments from my fans but many channels and producers have called me up and I am getting offers for pivotal roles. I am really happy, for now I can get busy once again.”

Amicable breakup About her single status, Aarti says, “Yes, I am single right now. I was in a relationship with Ayaz Khan and we broke up amicably. I do not regret having broken up because I would not have liked to deal with a broken marriage at a later stage. We realised that we could not live together under the same roof.”

So would she prefer an arranged marriage “I am fine with any marriage, ‘love’ or ‘arranged’. All I need is a good family. I will look for a man who is obviously handsome, he will be my guiding force and will also be responsible. He should be able to look after me in every possible manner. Definitely, we will need money to lead a good life. I am not greedy for money but who would not like someone who is self sufficient ”

Time to tie the knot She adds that she doesn’t have any time to waste on relationships. “I have no time to waste,” she says, adding, “I would not want to have an affair and break up again. It’s better to get married. My family members, especially my brother Krushna, are very keen that I get married soon. I want to have children. I know I will be a good mother and a good housewife as well. More than anything else I shall try my level best to be the best daughter-in-law.”

About continuing acting after marriage, she says, “I will leave everything after marriage. I am a complete homemaker. But yes, if after a while I get something good I will first and foremost seek the permissions of my in-laws and then go ahead. I am sure these days in-laws are very understanding.”

“People feel I am outspoken, but I can never be politically correct, I will always say what’s in my heart. Like right now, while talking to you, I feel like getting married, though I know it will take at least two years for my wish to be fulfilled. Until then I will try and shed loads of weight. I am planning to be size zero.”

Her one last wish in the industry, says Aarti, is to be a part of Bigg Boss. “Last season I was to join the bandwagon but I missed the chance. Hope this season I participate in BB.”
