Harsh Rajput calm about Saathiya sacking

Saath Nibhana Saathiya’s negative leads, Harsh Rajput and Pratibha Tiwari were booted out of the show, almost overnight. Understandably, Pratibha raised a stink over not being kept in the loop about the development, but her co-star Harsh on the other hand says he saw his ouster coming from a distance.

“I really can’t blame the production for this because they had told me well in advance that the track won’t be too long and it can end anytime,” he explains. “So even though I wasn’t informed about my last day, I’m not disappointed. As an actor, you have to be prepared for the worst. Daily shows are uncertain; their fates are decided by the TRPs. I’ve never really interfered in the creative aspects of the show. To keep an actor or to sack him or her is purely their call. I just follow the instructions. Besides, I have full confidence in my capabilities as an actor, so I don’t have fears like whether I get work or not when a project ends.”

Harsh says he’d now like to play a positive character. “I’m not a negative guy. So I find playing negative characters obviously more challenging, but I think I have done that for so many months already. Now, I am really looking forward for signing up for a positive character.”
