Deepika is making the most of her anonymity

Diya aur Bati Hum lead actress Deepika Singh is exploring the streets of Delhi in a burkha these days. The actress who is on a well-deserved break from work is making the most of her free time hiding from prying eyes in the capital. Our curiosity lead us to get in touch with the actress to figure out why she is walking around veiled in anonymity.

Deepika said, “Ever since I became a celebrity, I have been craving for a life that is free of the fear of being mobbed. The worst part of being a celebrity is you are deprived of the fun of bargaining as every shopkeeper knows you earn well. So this time I decided to experience the thrill of anonymity, wearing a burkha. I gleefully bargained like a miser without being recognised and pretty much got my way. I brought some nice Hyderabadi and silver jewellery and an intricate shawl.”

So did her disguise convince everyone She says, “When I was entering Delhi haat, the security stopped me and demanded to see my face. When I lifted the veil, they were taken aback. I requested them to keep mum and they readily obliged. I lived my life like the old times when I wasn’t a known name and had a blast doing things I haven’t done in a long time.”
