Virtual Reality, or VR, is not an unfamiliar term anymore. With short clips to movies and games, VR has been giving every user a different way to living in a virtual world. While movies and games are definitely one of the first to draw users into the virtual space, the porn industry has always been ahead of everyone in the digital space, and has embraced virtual reality before anyone else to have taken it mainstream.

As announced earlier, PornHub, the well-known adult entertainment website, had jumped onto the virtual reality bandwagon and offered free VR headsets with free online content in porn. However, not too long after that, BaDoinkVR, another adult entertainment website had taken a similar leap further into the virtual reality space with VR Porn Therapy.

The website, instead of focussing on the usual adult films, has slightly differed to enter the ‘Virtual Sexology’ service, which aims to provide videos that help you improve your performance in bed.

In a statement to The Guardian, marriage and family therapist, Hernando Chaves said that the content on BaDoinkVR has been developed under his guidance. “People can experience insecurity and stresses of being sexual with other partners,” said Chaves. “Virtual reality can help them feel more empowered and confident so that when they are in real situations they can decrease anxiety to get an erection or have one that lasts longer,” he added.

With reference to porn featuring in earlier 2D videos, Chaves further stated, “There’s a distance,” Chaves said. “With VR you feel as though you are more involved; there’s more realism. It’s a stepping stone into a real sexual experience.”

Adding to the initiative, Todd Glider, CEO of BaDoinkVR, said, “We want to make you a better, more attentive lover. Assuming it takes off, we’ll address premature ejaculation, impotence, fear of intimacy – for both men and women.”
