Samsung announced the launch of its smartwatch Gear S2 and virtual reality headset Gear in India on Thursday. The launch comes a day after India’s leading watch company Titan announced its smartwatch.

Launched as two variants, Gear S2 and Gear S2 Classic will be available on Flipkart for '24, 300 and '25,800, respectively. The Gear VR headset is priced at '8,200.

The Samsung Gear S2 smartwatch features a 1.2-inch circular dial with Super AMOLED display. While functioning as a wearable that that monitors physical activity, it will also provide sport enthusiasts data on their performance and guidance on how they played their game. Also, the smartwatch can remotely control music apps on the smartphone.

The smartwatch features a built-in heart rate sensor also lets users access emails, notifications and messages.

The Samsung Gear S2 is powered by Tizen OS and comes with 4GB of internal memory and 512MB RAM. It runs on 1.0 GHz dual-core processor and is backed by a 250mAh battery.

The Classic version of the device will be available with a leather band. The company is also offering a variety of band options in mendini, warm grey and red for Gear S2 and grey leather and brown leather for Gear S2 Classic.

Flipkart is the online partner for Gear S2, while it also will be available across all Samsung retail channels.
