Now talk to Spock with Skype’s new chat bot
Earlier last month, Skype had launched a new version for Linux. Now, it’s Microsoft’s turn.
Microsoft’s Windows 10 anniversary update is the second biggest update since the release of Windows 10 threshold in November last year. It is natural for this update to be packed with the best of all worlds.
Among other applications presenting their latest updated features, Skype is planning on releasing a new version of Skype Preview App. This followed when Microsoft added support for Skype bots and features to its anniversary update with the purpose of making the user experience easy and friendly. Now, users can communicate with automated conversation partners and perform functions like planning a travel trip or buying concert tickets with the help of these bots. What’s more One can even chat with the Spock bot while they are at it.
Apart from that, users can even gain access to group video calling, which is among the most-requested apps by users according to the Skype team. This is the first time Microsoft has invested in artificial intelligence Skype add-ons for consumer use.
Like mentioned previously, Microsoft is not the only one to be a part of the Skype-bot directory. Developers such as Apple, Android and other similar web pages are also among those receiving the latest update.
Skype has become a daily part of a majority of the people’s lives. We continue to use it despite its various shortcomings. However, the current level of success doesn’t seem enough to overcome the increasing competition that Skype is facing from others in the market such as WhatsApp, Telegram, Line and WeChat. Its present seems secure; but the future is somehow shaky. Will these consistent attempts at remaining competitive in the market pave out in their favor Only time will tell.
