Microsoft owned LinkedIn on October 6 introduced a new feature to help its users to find a job secretly, while there are still employed.

The feature is known as ‘Open Candidates’ and allows user to indicate recruiters that they are open to new job opportunities. Basically, “Open Candidate” is letting people to play safe at times when they are planning to switch from their current job but don’t want their own company to know about it. People can use the feature to secretly signal other company’s recruiters in LinkedIn circle.

In a statement to recode, Eddie Vivas, head of product for LinkedIn’s talent solutions business said, “The big challenge job seekers have today is that their profiles are an indication in general of where they are now, not necessarily where they want to go.”

“The ability to signal those things are big,” he added.
