Sony recently announced they are indeed working on bringing Remote Play to PC/Mac. Remote play allows you to stream your PS4 games to your PS Vita, PlayStation TV and select Xperia mobile devices, either directly or over the internet. Users are free to set the image quality and even select the option to stream in 60 fps if that particular game runs at that frame rate.

Remote play has always been a useful feature when the TV is already being occupied. Users can even stream across the world from the PS4 at home, depending on the quality of the internet connection at both locations.

Now with this feature being developed for PC, it will remove some of the biggest issues associated with using this service on the Vita. The screen will naturally be bigger, but you can also use the Dualshock 4 to play those games. Being a handheld there aren’t enough buttons on the Vita. And the analog sticks as well as the shoulder buttons aren’t fit for a large number of games.

This might be a direct response to Microsoft’s game streaming app, which allows users to stream games from their Xbox One to any PC with Windows 10. With Microsoft focusing heavily on bringing Xbox and PC players together, this is Sony’s attempt at enticing PC owners. As more proof, they published Helldivers on Steam, which was previously exclusive to PS platforms.
