Is this the new Aria, Tata

Those who have driven it have found the Tata Aria, helpful. But the design — like most pre-Zest era Tata cars — was clumsy.

Those who have driven it have found the Tata Aria, helpful. But the design — like most pre-Zest era Tata cars — was clumsy. But at Geneva, the Indian manufacturer unveiled what’s currently known as the Hexa.

Drawn with fresh pencils and fresher minds, the Hexa is leagues ahead of its struggling cousin and features a few spectacular design improvements — including a completely revamped face. And towards the side, the Hexa gets 19-inch alloys. Now, who can say no to those!

Inside, the concept packs a six-seat configuration and all six (according to what was displayed in Geneva) will be treated to LED mood lighting, a touchscreen console and a Harman Kardon infotainment system. All six will be ferried by a 2.2-litre unit with four-wheel drive as an option. WOW!

Bottom line This new energy at Tata, is positively good news for those hoping for that definitive India-made SUV fitted with all the bells and whistles that will not really put a frown on your face as you peek into that big German make at the lights. Now, all we hope for is competitive pricing.
