Microsoft has a big rival. Find out who

The bigger device will also come with AMD's Radeon 450 graphics card, and both models will feature 256GB of SSD storage

All computer OEM majors at the Computex this year, so it was impossible that Samsung was going to stay away from this. The Korean company attended Computex to unveil its brand new Notebook 9 Pro, a new model which ships with an S Pen and is one of the most powerful rival Microsoft’s own Surface could get.

The Notebook 9 Pro has a 360-degree hinge which makes it possible to rotate the touchscreen display and use it either as a laptop or a tablet. The Notebook 9 Pro will be available in two different sizes, with 13.3- and 15-inch screens. The laptop will be powered by the latest Intel Core i7 processors and will also have two RAM versions depending on the size of the device: the 13.3-inch Notebook will feature 8GB RAM, while the bigger 15-inch version will boast 16GB RAM.

The bigger device will also come with AMD’s Radeon 450 graphics card, and both models will feature 256GB of SSD storage by default, with a microSD card slot available for extra storage.

One of the differentiating factors of the device which sets it apart is the presence of the S Pen. None of the Windows 10 laptops and 2-in-1s in the market provide this feature. It features 4,000 levels of pressure and even includes a tilt-like option similar to the Surface Pen that came down early this month.

The device also comes with a majority of features that were available on Samsung phones, like Air Command for quick options when writing or drawing, but also with support for Windows 10 features such as Windows Ink, meaning which the customers will have the same experience as the Surface tablet.

As compared to Microsoft, who doesn’t think that USB-C is ready for prime time, Samsung is using this port for charging, with a fast charging mode also offered. There are two other standard USB ports, plus HDMI, while the camera also enables Windows Hello for quick and secure authentication.

The Notebook 9 Pro is slated to go on sale later this year, Samsung said, and pricing information will be provided at that point.
