The assumed glitch in OnePlus 5 has been ruled out as a normal visual effect by OnePlus.

It seems that it is completely normal to look for minor faults in a new flagship smartphone in 2017. Samsung’s Galaxy S8 was accused of a ‘red tinted’ display issue just after its launch, which was later ruled by Samsung as mere display tone that can be adjusted. So, after the OnePlus 5 was launched with its own set of launch-controversies, it was expected to gain some issues that were discovered by consumers. Well, the first one has been unearthed by users around the world complaining about a ‘jelly effect’ on the OnePlus 5.

Various users have been complaining about a ‘jelly effect’ on the OnePlus 5 while scrolling through a menu. The content on the screen would distort and wobble in a way that would resemble the one seen while touching a jelly cube. And, to eradicate any further suspicion about a scandal or a conspiracy about the flagship device from OnePlus, the company took to its blog and clarified the matter.

“The OnePlus 5 uses the same level of high-quality components as all OnePlus devices, including the AMOLED display. We’ve received feedback from a small number of users saying that at times they notice a subtle visual effect when scrolling. This is natural and there’s no variance in screens between devices,” said OnePlus.

In essence, OnePlus described the issue as completely normal and nothing like a hardware or software glitch. That also means that users, who have been experiencing the issue, shouldn’t be expecting any software update or fix. However, if you are a OnePlus 5 user and are disturbed by this animated effect, then you can get a refund for your OnePlus 5 within 15 days of the purchase date.
