Next–gen Sony smartphones to possibly feature bezel-less design

Sony latest Xperia XZ1 is one of the most premium smartphones you can get in the market today. However, it seems that Sony isn’t happy with its design and is planning to revamp its entire range of smartphones starting next year if we are to believe Kenichiro Hibi, Sony India’s MD.

In a conversation to The Indian Express, Sony has expressed its intention to design a new range of smartphones with modern design elements such as a bezel-less display and advanced security features. That said, Sony will still carry on with their ‘Omnibalance’ design with X series of smartphones for the next year. Nothing else was mentioned about the new series of smartphones.

It clearly seems that Sony is under pressure to deliver some eyeball-attracting smartphones in order to stay alive in a market where the competition is offering bezel-less displays and advanced security features. The new series will possibly sit above the Xperia X series and should sport some standout features in order to woo customers.
