There are a few revolutions in smartphones which we all are waiting for, like more cameras, better and faster unlock mechanism and, most importantly, foldable hardware. While Samsung and Huawei have been signaling about their final development in this department, Lenovo went a step ahead and showcased what seems to be a proper foldable smartphone.

A video surfaced on Twitter on tech micro-blogger Bang Gogo’s profile which shows the Lenovo’s foldable device in its full glory. What we saw in the past were majorly images but seeing this working prototype has not only enhanced our excitement but it has also raised assumptions that these type of handsets might not be too far.

As apparent from the video, the folding device is just like our normal smartphones but it is unconventionally long. On top, there’s this weirdly huge forehead while the chin also looks bigger than anything else we have seen in the past. Perhaps, this is because the integration of folding mechanism needs more space on the top and at the bottom. What’s impressive is it consists of menu icons like any other smartphone which seem to be working just fine.

The smartphone can be bent just to a certain degrees and you can see the chassis getting creases when the phone folds. Notably, this is not the first time Lenovo exhibited a foldable smartphone as it did the same in July last year when we got to see the Cplus at the Lenovo Tech World Summit. The smartphone bearing the 4.35-inch AMOLED screen folded into a bracelet and consisted of leather rear side.

It remains to be seen which brand manages to officially unveil its first fully-functional foldable smartphone. Apart from Lenovo, Samsung and Huawei, LG has also acquired patents for the concept.
