The leak also confirms a USB Type-C port, 3.5mm headphone jack and Galaxy S9-esque fingerprint sensor design.

The curved edge on the rear panel also suggests OnePlus opting for either a glass or ceramic finish.

The OnePlus 5T has been the choice of the geeks and smartphone enthusiasts since its launch in November 2017. However, just after three months, rumours of the next-in-line OnePlus 6 have been doing rounds of the Internet, with most agreeing to OP6 sticking to a design first seen on the OPPO R13. Now though, a leak from a credible source has given us our first view of the OnePlus 6, albeit from the rear.

Popular tipster Evan Blass has leaked out photos of what appears to be the rumoured OnePlus 6 smartphone. The phone shown here carries a OnePlus logo in the centre, above which the fingerprint sensor and a dual camera setup rest. In short, we can expect a Galaxy S9+-esque rear panel layout for the OnePlus 6.

However, what’s surprising here is the wooden-textured rear panel. While wood is not an ideal material to encase a smartphone, it appears that the rear panel could possibly have a textured metallic frame with a design emulating a wooden surface. There could also be a possibility that this variant would be available with OnePlus’ trademark Sandstone finish. There could also be a possibility of OnePlus offering skins for its upcoming flagship, which is shown here. The curved edge on the rear panel also suggests OnePlus opting for either a glass or ceramic finish.

What’s retained here is the 3.5mm headphone jack, which is dying breed in premium smartphones. There’s USB Type-C port accompanied by a speaker grille. The power button can also be seen on the edge.

Don’t get your hopes too high though. Remember, this is still a leak, which means there could a high chance that one of this will make it to the final product. However, the wait for the new OnePlus flagship is expected to be short as the company has already halted sales of the OnePlus 5T in North America. An Engadget report states that OnePlus confirms to have sold all the targetted number of 5T units in the market and are out of stock, which indicates that the OnePlus 6 isn’t that far from a global debut. Stay tuned for all the leaks and information related to the OnePlus 6.
