Following the December 2015 San Bernardino terrorist attack, the FBI moved a dispute with Apple to court, seeking a judge that would have had the technology giant to hack a password protected iPhone used by one of the terrorist.

After Apple refused to hack the device, the FBI eventually managed to unlock the device with the help of an undisclosed group of hackers, who were paid up to $1 million to get access to the data stored on the iPhone

The bug allows the device and the software to launch brute force attack and crack the password during the flashing process of iOS, which can be triggered using third-part app without requiring the password. The device can hack up to 3 different iPhones simultaneously with just the minimum requirement like the USB, micro USB and the Lightening ports.

Apple will likely to release a patch, also because more devices like this one could hit the market at lower prices.
