OnePlus has started rolling out Android 8.0 Oreo update to its last year’s flagship — OnePlus 3T and OnePlus 3.

OnePlus confirmed the roll-out of OxygenOS 5.0, which is the company’s first official Android Oreo update for the OnePlus 3T and OnePlus 3. But the update will be available to a limited number of users. However, the company says a broader rollout of the Oreo update will be available by the end of the year. OnePlus had also confirmed that Android Oreo would be the last upgrade in terms of software for the OnePlus 3 series.

The new update brings some major changes to the devices. It bumps the Android version to 8.0 Oreo, bringing latest features such as Picture in Picture (PiP), Parallel Apps, Auto-fill, Smart text selection and a new Quick settings design. The security patch has only been upgraded to September.

Talking about OnePlus Launcher, OxygenOS 5.0 gets new Notification dots, new App folder design, and has also enabled users to upload photos directly with the 'Shot on OnePlus' tag.

Moreover, the company has recently launched its OnePlus 5T smartphone, which is an upgrade to 2017’s OnePlus 5.
