The third iOS 11 patch is reportedly a heavy power sipper and brings in some more bugs.

One iPhone 7 user states that his iPhone 7 is switching itself off at 80 percent, citing low battery notifications.

Since Apple rolled out the stable iOS 11 build to the world, anyone using a supported Apple device knows that it’s anything but stable. Apple has been since releasing a slew of patches to iron out the issues every week. Even after a month of its global debut, iOS 11 is still buggy and the third patch, which was supposed to make the OS more stable, has made matters worse for iOS users.

A Softpedia report has brought out some Reddit posts related to the third patch of iOS 11 and the threads are full of users complaining about various kinds of bugs in the OS. One of the most noticeable issues on the thread is the matter of massive battery drain on iPhones, especially the older models. One iPhone 7 user reports that iOS 11.0.3 has been draining the battery by 15 percent overnight. He even experiences weird Wi-Fi based bugs — certain apps such as Safari, Reddit and Apple Music loading pages only on Wi-Fi networks.

Another iPhone SE user states that iOS 11 is draining the battery from 100 to 50 percent within few hours in with minimal usage. In fact, the iPhone SE is the iPhone with most issues in Reddit’s ‘Apple’ thread. Apart from that, iPhone 7 is also the most visible name experiencing pretty weird issues. One iPhone 7 user states that his iPhone 7 is switching itself off at 80 percent, citing low battery notifications. Another iPhone 7 Plus user states that 3D Touch on his phone is lagging horribly, leading to apps crashing or stutter occasionally.

It is now clear that iOS 11 shares its fate with iOS 7, which was also riddled with immense bugs and noticeable lags. Let’s hope that Apple manages to fix iOS 11 before the end of this year so as to refine the experience for all iOS users.
