The OnePlus 6 has been one of the very few smartphones in the Indian market to let its users taste Android Pie. Presently in its Beta form, OnePlus has given its latest version of Oxygen OS a major UI overhaul inspired by Google’s take on Android for the Pixel 2 series. The Beta 1 was released only a week ago and OnePlus has gone ahead with the Beta 2 already this week.

The second beta brings in a couple of improvements, primarily in Wi-Fi connectivity and camera quality. If you are using the OnePlus 6 with the first beta installed, you will be notified automatically about the beta 2 update, which is mostly around 135MB. However, if you installing the update for the first time, you will need to head over to the OnePlus forum for downloading the ROM and install it manually. Do note that the complete ROM weighs around 1.6GB.

One of the primary refinements with the Beta 2 is an improvement in the front camera image quality. Users should now experience slightly better images than before. Additionally, the update also includes improvements to Wi-Fi stability, optimised background power consumption control and optimised pocket mode for accidental touches. The UI has also been revamped slightly for the multitasking window and OTP management via messages.

However, since it’s a beta build, do note that there are certain bugs associated with the OS, chief of which is the inability of Google Pay to function properly. Additionally, certain apps could also face issues, which is why it is advised to install the beta only if your OnePlus 6 is a secondary device.
