WhatsApp is looking forward to have their own feature capable of looping short videos to add to chats and status updates, similar to Instagram’s Boomerang feature.

Reports by WABetaInfo suggest that WhatsApp has been working on the feature since a few weeks. Users will soon see a new option in the Video Type toggle tab alongside the GIF option. Once you have converted a video to such a ‘boomerang’ clip, you can send it just like any other media in your chats and also put it up on status updates.

The feature is still a long way from making its way to our devices since it hasn’t even made it to the WhatsApp Beta apps yet. iOS doesn’t have the feature yet either. WABetainfo however suggests that the feature will be pushed out to iOS devices first, and then will be rolled out on the android ecosystem.
